It’s another lovely day here on FullLeft Rudder. Nice seeing the wintery boat content coming through to warm the soul. My contribution is this food boat that I found out exists and is a real thing at my local lake.
It looks like it mostly stays on the Idaho side of the lake (probably because the Utah side commerce department said HELL NAY) so it means a road, er, water trip up north to check it out. I know it’s not going to be good, but I really don’t care...I gotta try it.

Reminds me of this hot dog stand in the Delaware river that serves all the tubers in the summer.

Wired: Burger boats in every inlet

You don’t want what this lake has to offer and the idea of fresh fish is otherwise something of a foreign concept to Utah.

There are a plethora of them in Florida
Burger boats, beer boats, ice cream boats...

I don’t know what FullLeftRudder means (in the context of Kinja I mean , I know how rudders work) but I am intrigued by this food boat.

Our lake is relatively small, but still about 7 miles long and full of islands and shallow areas. There’s a popular area about 5 miles out on the bigger of two connected lakes, way up a slow channel in a protected cove;
THE ONLY commercial enterprise of any kind is through a
river and on the smaller lake.
Put it this way: when you’re out at this spot, you’re a solid 30 minutes from town on a busy lake day, for any supplies of any sort.
Many times I’ve heard ideas pitched like selling grilled food, ice cream, beer, gas, chips, whatever. I’m totally in favor and can’t believe no one has done it yet.

I feel like this boat probably has a burger called the “Crabby Patty” on the menu.

BBQ pulled pork is offered as both a regular item and an extra. This means you must order a foot long hotdog with BBQ pulled pork on it.

My wife refuses to eat any fish caught in Louisiana.

It’s not that its dirty, it’ s actually crazy clear, it just doesn’t have any tasty fish.
Those are my tire tracks from when the water was down, that’ s about 10 feet of water where it changes color.

Or would that be an... Ice cream float?
I'll see myself out.

The water here is pretty dirty. A third of the nation drains through Louisiana, most of it down the Mississippi, carrying all of their trash and water pollution with it. Add in all of the shipping activities, the pipelines, and the petrochemical plants, and the outdoorsman’s paradise is a filthy p lace to be.
